"I think there was a friendship instantly between Martin and Benedict. They’re not at all like the parts they play. But the relationship between them really informs the much pricklier onscreen relationship. Because obviously Sherlock’s a quite cruel man at times and John is quite a put-upon man at times. But you won’t buy that, you won’t enjoy that unless you absolutely feel that in every scene, in every heartbeat that there is that proper, underlying warmth. That real, proper, solid friendship. And that friendship has actually happened between Benedict and Martin. And the value of that you get onscreen."

VERY useful support from the Radio Times for Benedict

Benedict Cumberbatch is among the movers and shakers nominated for inclusion in weekly US news magazine Time’s prestigious 100 list this year.
The Sherlock star is one of the “leaders, artists, innovators, icons and heroes” named in a poll on the magazine’s website.
Users can vote for Cumberbatch, or any of the other candidates, on the magazine’s website, with the person receiving the most votes joining the ranks of key players from around the world, the other 99 of which are chosen by Time’s editors.
In the brief biography accompanying the piece, Time describes Cumberbatch as “an actor whose name is only slightly less angular than his face.”
“He’s the eponymous hero of the BBC’s extraordinary reimagining of the Sherlock Holmes stories,” it continues, “and he appears in other small-screen dramas with a regularity that would be monotonous were he not so compelling.”
Cumberbatch fans have just one week left to vote for the star. The poll closes on Friday 6 April, with the winner revealed on Time.com on Tuesday 17 April.
Time magazine is read by over 25 million people worlwide, the largest circulation of any weekly news magazine. A European edition, Time Europe, is published in London.

I just realized that if the world ends in December 2012, we will never get to see Sherlock Season 3. And that is will be one of the things I’d really regret not being able to do. Watching Sherlock Season 3.

I can’t tell if that’s sad or not.

Ok, I’ll be honest. I regret nothing.
